On holidays overseas, have you ever accidentally driven on the left when you shouldn't? It's a very ingrained habit and an easy mistake for even the most cautious driver to make.
..but it's a habit that can, and does, cause many accidents every year (both us Brits when overseas, and visitors to the UK who inadvertently drive on the right).
... and there is also evidence that when you return from a foreign trip, you might even make the opposite mistake.
Here is a brilliant way of minimising the chances of it happening to you!
The Lane Check pack consists of two self cling windscreen stickers (one for when you're in the UK, one for when you're in a drive-on-the-right country), which can be positioned on your windscreen to act as a useful reminder. See pictures at bottom of this page.
We suggest mounting them by the rear view mirror (somewhere you naturally look regularly as you drive) though they can be safely positioned anywhere outside of your direct forward vision.
They can be peeled and re-applied as many times as you like, so if you are a regular visitor to Europe, for instance, you can swop between the two as appropriate during the course of your journeys (something to do when you're on the ferry!).
If you're flying to your destination, we would also suggest that Lane Check is a wise addition to your hand luggage - apply the correct sticker before you drive off in the hire car.
The pack also gives Country codes to identify which side of the road each country drives on - we were surprised to discover that approx. one third of the world's population drives on the left - we thought it was only us!
